Dominic manages IDEA's Chicago office and brings over 15 years of experience designing a variety of building typologies. Dominic has a passion for exploration throughout the design process, from clear conceptual planning to final detailing. From 2011 to 2013 he worked at Shears Adkins + Rockmore (SA+R) in Denver, focusing primarily on multi-family and mixed-use infill buildings. Prior to joining SA+R, from 2003 to 2011, he worked for Swanke Hayden Connell Architects (SHCA) in their New York City and London offices. At SHCA, Dominic gained experience working on all phases of residential and commercial towers, K-12 schools, and master planning projects. He has designed projects throughout the US including New York City, Chicago, Detroit and Denver as well as internationally in Russia, Germany, China and the United Kingdom. Dominic received his bachelor's degree from the University of Michigan and his Master of Architecture degree from Syracuse University. He is licensed to practice in Illinois, Michigan, New York and Colorado.
Scott Springer is a Managing Director with IDEA and has over 20 years of experience on a variety of notable projects in the United States, Europe, the Middle East, North Africa and Asia. Prior to joining IDEA, he was a principal with two New York-based international design firms (HLW & SHCA) and a senior associate principal at KPF. Scott’s diverse project list includes the headquarters of the Peter G. Peterson Institute for International Economics in Washington, DC; and the Pudong Shangri-La Hotel Tower II and Mirae Asset Tower. His work on the Pudong Shangri-La expansion led to three more projects for Kerry Properties/Shangri-La in China, including the Kerry Parkside and Jing An Kerry Centre mixed use projects. He is the recipient of a Stewardson Keefe LeBrun Award (1998) and an Arnold W. Brunner Grant (1999), both awarded by the New York Chapter of the AIA. Scott is a member of the AIA, LEED accredited and licensed to practice in New York and Connecticut.
How Zan is an Associate Director and specializes in design with a particular emphasis on technical design. How received his undergraduate degree in Architecture in Taipei, Taiwan and his Master's degree at Parsons School of Design in New York, USA. He began his professional career with Swanke Hayden Connell working on tall buildings throughout the world, including New York, Moscow, and Abu Dubai. Of his built work, we are most proud of the core & shell reclad of the office building at 130 E 59th Street in New York and his glass box addition in Central Park at the restaurant, Tavern on the Green. How is a Registered Architect in the State of New York and he is also LEED acredited.
